Mixed Media Landscapes

This is a new series for me in 2026 after an incredible trip to Namibia. I grew up in South Africa so I have a strong feeling of being drawn back to Africa for visits but having a family means it doesn't happen that often. This visit was a solo trip and I managed to travel across quite a bit of the country and I was deeply affected by the vastness of the land, the incredible skies and the different rock formations. I feel a lot of the country there is close to that of outback Australia and the colours found there are similar. I hope you enjoy my series as it develops.

'Dust and Distance' Acrylic on canvas  30cm x 40 cm

$325

Inspired by the long, straight roads of Namibia this painting explores the feeling of travel to an endless horizon. The road becomes a quiet line through the earth. Layers of ochre, rust, charcoal and pale light evoke the heat and dust of the desert while the horizon captures the solitude and endless possibility found on a journey

'The Quiet Expanse' Acrylic on canvas 30cm x 30cm

$225

Inspired by the vast, open landscapes this painting explores the stillness of the desert and the extraordinary sense of space within it. A distant horizon stretches across a landscape softened by dust and light. The simplicity of the landscape invites a moment of pause – a place where heat, silence and endless distance are the subject.
